attitude for excellence

The Sheriff is sponsoring the Attitude for Excellence Program here at Dane County. This is a program that will reward all employees of the Sheriff's Office for attitude and actions which greatly exceed our expectations. In most instances, these actions are brought to our attention by citizen letters of commendation.

The Attitude for Excellence program is a way to remind all of us that our job is to always serve the citizenry as best we are able. Those employees who earn this award will receive a certificate and a special challenge coin. This particular coin is available only to those who receive the award.

• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Cynthia Krakow after receiving a letter from a member of The Prince George's County Government, expressing thanks for her participation in the survivor pick-up detail held at the Reagan National Airport as well as holding a professional demeanor throughout the event. 7/6/2012

• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Michael Doeden after receiving a personal commendation from numerous members of Waunakee High School for displaying an exceedingly professional demeanor while giving physics presentations and combining them with real life application for their students. 4/27/2012
• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Randy Wiessinger after receiving a personal commendation from numerous officers from the Janesville Police Department in regards to his time and effort spent on organizing the funeral and visitation for the death of a former detective, expressing much appreciation for his actions. 4/26/2012
• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Eric Novotny after receiving a personal commendation from a business for his work in catching two individuals stealing company property. The company expressed their thanks for the attentiveness and diligence he displayed in the matter. 3/28/2012
• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Glenn Weeden after receiving a personal commendation from an individual for his work in making a much needed contact with an evasive individual, and expressed high appreciation in the matter. 3/28/2012

• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Chad Lauritsen after receiving a letter from the Village of Deerfield Board and Village Administrator expressing thanks for Deputy Lauritsen's time and effort spent on a project to develop a Junk Ordinance for the Village. 3/12/2012
• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Deputy Scott Lindner after receiving a letter from the Activity Director of the Crazy Horse Campground expressing thanks for Deputy Lindner and K9 partner Dani for participating in their event. 3/12/2012
• Sheriff Mahoney awarded an Attitude for Excellence Award to Detective Linda Kohlmeyer-Searls after receiving copies of cards and emails from the victim and her family thanking Detective Kohlmeyer-Searls for her work on a Sexual Assault of a Child case that she had been working on for the past few years. They expressed their thanks for the tremendous amount of work she did on a difficult, complex, and time consuming case. 1/11/2012
