The above picture shows how in a crowd control situation we integrate the Special Event Teams with Mounted patrols. Horses have a very calming effect on large disruptive crowds. Photo one replicates a SET Team moving the crowd back and in event the crowd infiltrates the line or challenges them in any way the horses are the next line of defense and can quickly move forward to force the crowd back.
The mounted patrol are a combination of police officers from around the State of Wisconsin that are used on a mutual aid basis for crowd control situations all around the state. They have been used in the LaCrosse area extensively and are credited with helping to calm an unusually rowdy Coon Creek Festival and Milwaukee PD uses mounted patrol extensively as well.
