Dane County’s Jail Consolidation Project has been debated for many years. Although the project is moving forward, we know there continues to be questions about why an improved jail facility is needed. The Sheriff’s Office invites the public to see the facilities firsthand.
Currently, we offer tours on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon. Tours last between 45 and 90 minutes. Tours must be scheduled in advance.

Group Tours are encouraged. However, we limit groups to no more than ten people at a time. We will do our best to accommodate time/date requests for group tours.
