Flight diverted to DCRA

Madison, WI. At approximately 9:00 p.m. on May 29th, 2026, The FBI was notified that a commercial flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was being diverted to the Dane County Regional Airport. This was due to the behavior of a 75-year-old male passenger. The passenger was detained by Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Upon initial investigation the passenger appeared confused and in Mental Health crisis. No one was injured during this incident. The remaining passengers resumed their flight. The passenger’s family in Minnesota was contacted and is travelling to Madison to be re-united. FBI Milwaukee’s Madison Resident Agency immediately responded and is handling the investigation.
